my watch tells me it is nearly 3 am here. i should be sound asleep or on my way.
but i have too much to talk about.
Manchester United defeated Chelsea in a shootout tonight in the Champion's League final. it is not a big deal for most of us, by that i mean americans. to the rest of the world it is a very important thing.
i watched it in a bar (side-note -- christians in bars is a topic i really want to talk about but not in this post, not with how i feel right now) that was standing room only as the game played itself out on the wall that doubled for a big screen tv.
english, french, australian, african, indian, and americans were all there. for a while none of that mattered. for a while i was a person rooting for chelsea since i really dislike man u and others were people pulling for man u because they really dislike chelsea.
GOD was there. how do i know that? there was an accident outside and everyone ran out to help despite how invested they were in the game. there was no black and white, no rich or poor, only cheers and beers, tears and laughs, smiles and kisses. (who got what and how much isn't really important)
i laughed at all of those people that tell us that we all started as a big bang, then amoebas, then onto fish that crawl onto land and became apes, then onto cavemen and eventually what we are today.
are you serious?
no amount of coincidence can explain how i sat thousands of miles from home, watching a game taking place thousands of more miles away, with alot of people that don't share my language, but yet we all were together at once, sharing and hoping and laughing and crying like old friends.
GOD touched me there. we are all together in this...and its nice to share this life with all of you...
i hope that sometime i can be someplace with you, sharing some experience with you, learning more about how the world looks to you...
